When is the best time to fish for Lake Erie walleye?
Captain Kurt’s walleye charter season runs from mid-May through September. Throughout the season, Captain Kurt follows fish movements and changing conditions to provide the best fishing opportunities available.
Do I need fishing experience?
Not at all. Our charters are perfect for anglers of all skill levels—from first-time fishermen to experienced anglers. Captain Kurt provides instruction throughout the trip to help everyone enjoy a successful day on the water.
What is included with my charter?
Your charter includes the boat, professional guide service, rods, reels, tackle, bait, bottled water, and fish cleaning services. Simply bring your Ohio fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, snacks, drinks, and a cooler to transport your fish home.
What happens to the fish we catch?
Captain Kurt immediately bleeds each fish and keeps your catch on plenty of ice throughout the day to ensure the highest quality fillets. After returning to the lodge, your fish can be professionally cleaned so they’re ready to take home.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is always our top priority. If weather or lake conditions make fishing unsafe, Captain Kurt will work with you to reschedule your charter for another available date whenever possible.
